BEAUDUC BEACH:
Location: close to the Beauduc lighthouse, Beauduc beach is located around twenty-five miles south of Arles. It can be reached from a track which begins in Salin-de-Giraud.
The hour-long journey is a true adventure in itself, a route along a bumpy trail that cuts through the marshes. Featuring heavily in Beauduc folklore, but in danger of soon disappearing as they have now been declared illegal, the local cabanons (small cabins) were built by visitors from Arles from the 1950s on. The cabanons can range from static caravans to small houses encircled by fences. The cabanier community has even been the subject of an ethnographic study!
The beach is a true paradise for surfers and kite-surfers. Feel free to pitch a tent and enjoy several days relaxing here, gathering tellines from the sea for an apéritif (don't forget to bring fresh water), and eating around a barbecue.
THE SAINTES-MARIES-DE-LA-MER BEACH:
Location: to the east of Saintes-Maries-de-la-Mer.
A vast beach which is easily accessible from the fee-paying car park next to the La Brise campsite.
The first part of the beach - and most popular - is a haven for camper vans.
Further away, accessible by car or bicycle, or on foot for those who are particularly brave, visitors can enjoy the wide open spaces of the Camargue’s huge beaches.
Relax against the backdrop of distant hikers and horse riders, as you watch the ships sailing across the blue waters of the Mediterranean.

THE L'ESPIGUETTE BEACH:
Location: at the western edge of the Camargue, this beach extends from Le Grau du Roi to the Rhône Vif.
Easily accessed from Le Grau du Roi, fee-paying parking is available on part of the beach.
This sandy beach, less wild than the previous ones, stretches over many miles.
There is something for everyone here: from families (who are generally around the marina and the Espiguette lighthouse) to camper van enthusiasts to naturists (around the club), while, slightly further on, are the ‘libertins’.
THE PIEMANSON BEACH:
Location: Extending from the west of the Grand Rhône to the Faraman lighthouse, the beach is easily accessible from Salin-de-Giraud.
Around four miles of beautiful sandy beach, half of which is reserved for naturists.
Just like Beauduc, there are no buildings in this area - visitors can just plant a tent and enjoy this unspoilt beach. It is a popular spot for sea-kayaking.
