The VIGUEIRAT MARSHES
around fifteen miles south of Arles,
close to Port Saint-Louis-du-Rhône.

vigueirat marshes in camargueAccessible to disabled visitors.
With a main aim of protecting the biological legacy of the marshlands, this site also manages the supply of soft water to the area, enabling the survival of a wide variety of animals and plant species that would not survive in salt water.
A protected natural site, it offers a wide variety of the Camargue’s many natural features: marshes, reed beds, roubines and salt fields.

Whether exploring the area on foot or in a horse-drawn calèche, visitors have the opportunity to discover many rare and protected plant species and wildlife in its natural habitat, between the salt water of the sea and the fresh water of nearby rivers.
